Cape Town may be South Africa's second largest city, but this charming seaside city plays second to none. Grab your camera and enjoy a stunning panoramic view atop Table Mountain, stroll the famed vineyards that once provided wine for royalty or take a boat to Robben Island, the notorious prison turned museum where freedom fighters like Nelson Mandela were once imprisoned....and that's just the beginning your Cape Town love affair.
Natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and an indelible human spirit are just a few reasons we're smitten with Namibia! Prepared to be charmed by the coastal cities of Wavlis Bay & Swakopmund, pick your jaw up off the ground as we visit the world's oldest desert, the Namib and unleash your inner daredevil as we dune bash across the famous mountain-sized sand dunes. There's only thing you'll regret after this experience, that you didn't visit sooner.
Welcome to The Mother City. Once landed in Cape Town, a member of the Explore Africa Tour team will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. We know getting to Africa is quite the journey so take some time to nap, freshen up and prepare for the evening. Save your stomach, because our welcome dinner in the evening is best enjoyed on an empty stomach! Dine on traditional South African food and meet the entire Explore Africa group.
Driving the coast of Cape Town is like a dream, and today you'll have to opportunity to do just that as we make our way to Cape Point, the most southern-western tip of the continent. Grab a window seat or we promise you, you'll regret it. On the way you will have the opportunity to rub noses with celebrities at Boulder Beach....and by celebrities we mean the famous African penguins, the only ones found on the continent. Prepare yourselves for spectacular scenery as we visit Cape of Good Hope.
Don't leave your cameras at home or else you will regret it! Fuel up at breakfast, because we have a long day ahead of us. Today's forecast calls for stunning panoramas atop the iconic Table Mountain, and stories of courage, survival and strength on Robben Island. After lunch, you can take a stroll around the bustling waterfront or do a little retail therapy. The choice is yours.
Set your alarms, we have an early day. A safari is a quintessential African experience, it's the best way to see the diverse African wildlife, and that's what today is all about. Be ready to be wowed by the BIG 5, the legends of the Africa wilderness, elephants, lions, buffalos, leopards and rhinos.
Start off the day with breakfast, you will need it! We only have one rule today, empty your glass! Today we will be headed out to the Western Cape to stroll and sip wine in Stellenbosch, South Africa's famed wine region. FYI. South Africa isn't new to the wine game as the countries rich wine history dates back to the mid 17th century and its wine was sought after by the European aristocracy. After sipping wine all day, we think its safe to say - you've got the evening to yourselves.
It's so hard to say goodbye, but we hope you made enough memories and took enough pictures to last a few forevers. We'll get together one last time at breakfast and make one final stop. As it is our final day in Cape Town we couldn't leave without giving back to the community. Join us as we team up with the Myles & Ruth Munroe Foundation to visit a local non-profit organization. After we're done, we say our final goodbyes and it's off to Namibia!
While the evening is at your leisure, we do recommend a few cool experiences. There's quad biking on the larger than life Namibia dunes, daring hot air balloon rides or a little camel riding. (Remember, this is optional and at additional cost, we're just giving you a few ideas.)
There's an adventure for just about every type of traveler in Namibia, and today's experience will prove just that. We will be touring Namibia's Walvis Bay and surrounding areas via a marine cruise where we will be able to marvel at the diverse marine life...you'll possibly spot dolphins, seals and a few pelicans.
We wouldn't bring you all the way to Namibia without a desert detour! Fuel up on breakfast in the morning, you will need it! Today is all about living your best life ever! Today, we're off to an adrenaline pumping dune drive along Sandwich Harbour, the spot where monstrous Namibian desert dunes meet the ocean. Trust us, you'll be worn out at the end of the day, you'll be thrilled for an evening at your leisure.
It's time to say goodbye to Namibia. Grab some breakfast, then it's off to the airport for our afternoon (3:00 p.m.) flight back to Cape Town. Once we've landed in Cape Town, it's time to bid adieu to Africa. We hope you created enough memories to last you a couple of forevers and hope you fell in love with the Motherland like we have.
