Day 1
Welcome to Kenya! Once landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a member of the Explore Africa Tour team will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. We know getting to Kenya is quite the journey so take some time to nap, freshen up and prepare for the evening. Save your stomach, because our welcome dinner in the evening is best enjoyed on an empty stomach! Dine on traditional African food and meet the entire Explore Africa group.
Day 2
If you’ve never had a cup of Kenyan tea, you’re in for a treat. Kenya is renowned for their tea farms and we’re off to visit the place where tea growing began in Kenya 100 years ago. Not only will we learn about the history of Kenya tea farming in the Ngong Hills but we will have the opportunity to hear first hand about the the process of cultivating tea and view the lush tea fields.
We’ll take a break to chow down on lunch and then it’s off to the Nairobi National Museum to learn more about the rich culture and heritage of Kenya.
DAY 3
Start off the day with a hearty breakfast, you’ll need it! We’ve got a long day ahead of us as we travel outside of Nairobi to the Maasai Mara National Park. Along the way, you’ll see the true beauty of Kenya as we move across the country have the opportunity to get your first glimpse of the famous Maasai people of Kenya. The Maasai known for raising cattle, but are also known to be fearsome hunters and warriors.
After a long day on the road, we will check into our camp site, it’s safe to say you've got the evening to yourselves.
DAY 4
A safari is a quintessential African experience, and Kenya is one of the best places on the continent to view one. We hit the savannah early for a morning safari with hopes to see the diverse wildlife in Kenya. Be ready to be wowed by the BIG 5, the legends of the Africa wilderness, elephants, lions, buffalos, leopards and rhinos. As it is peak migration season, we hope to have an unforgettable experience.
You have the afternoon at your leisure, but when the sun sets, we’re off to an evening safari. P.S. There are no two safaris alike!
DAY 5
It’s time to head back to the city. We pack things up and hit the road back to Nairobi. On the way back we visit, Hell’s Gate National Park, where creators of the Lion King travelled to find inspiration for the movie. While at the park, you'll get to see the real life inspiration for Pride Rock.
Not far from Hell’s Gate we’ll have the opportunity to visit the ancient freshwater lake of the Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha.
After we’re back in Nairobi, hotel check in. Dinner at your leisure.
DAY 6
If you’re in the market to adopt, how about an orphaned elephant? Today we’ll visit the David Sheldrick Wildlife Center, and see the orphaned elephants, learn about the conservation center and watch the baby elephants feed and roll around in the mud. Next, we’ll head to feed the elegant giraffes of Giraffe Center, and if you wish, you can even get a giraffe smooch!
We end our day with a visit to Bomas of Kenya where we will learn about the different tribes of Kenya and visit traditional villages belonging to several Kenyan tribes.

DAY 7
It's so hard to say goodbye, but we hope you made enough memories and took enough pictures to last a few forevers. We'll get together one last time at breakfast and then we say our final goodbyes to Kenya. A member of the Explore Africa team will be on hand to see you off to the airport!
